Cool picture. It looks like a black/white variety, similar to one Arch posted in first page of this thread.

Have been talking to one of our members currently in Kabul and he seen the green commando patches being worn by US soldiers in Multicam.
Cheers

Hello,
you are right with Afghan patches, but the Afghan Commando patches (different variants) are widely worn by US SOF personnel assigned to Afghan Cmdo or used to work with them in past.
I saw different on US uniforms.
Greetings
Rafal

Iv actually found very few pictures of single piece subdued patches. Heres the closest iv seen so far, either tan or faded OD but 2 pieces and embroidered in light colours.
Cheers

ANA Commando "Punisher" Patches
Here are ANA commando patches (The punisher skull). Those are for ANA commandos but also popular with US SF guys who wear them as novelty patches.
The photos originally posted by Lance(kreigmodell).
Full white skull with black borders, lacking the arabic letters.

Red skull without arabic letters.

I thought this was just a great DOD photograph for several reasons to include the shemagh and the ANA Commando patch in wear.
This is the original caption: Captain Rebecca Murga shows a young afghan boy his photograph at the Afghan local police validation shura in Now Bahar District, Zabul province, Afghanistan, April 20. Murga is a public affairs officer assigned to Combined Forces Special Operations Component Command, Afghanistan. Photo by Staff Sgt. Brian Ferguson

This is a a DOD photograph of ANA Commandos and USSF advisors. Quite a bit going on here if you look close enough. The most obvious is the ANA man in front with twin mounted Commando patches on his front chest area AND the seldom seen small size patch on the tactical ball cap. The ANA man over his left shoulder sports a white punisher skull. Lastly the USSF advisor middle left has an Afghanistan national flag on his left shoulder and an unusual large size SF DI patch on his right.
Interesting gear study and also quite a diverse selection of primary weapons. My thoughts only ......

Another photograph of the ANA Commando patch in wear by a somewhat weary appearing US SOF man. Quality of the photo makes it difficult to make out the other patches being displayed.
Photo is open source.

More pictures of US Special Forces wearing those patches. One pic shows SF tabbed patch is being worn as well.
