  Picked this one up in a patch bin at the Show of Shows and anyone know what it might be for?  Thanks Clete

It we could only read Arabic we would have a shot. When I saw the center design I was thinking flight but no knowing
much about Afghan culture it could be a reference to something Afghans take to heart. Anyway thanks Arch!

Interesting patch Clete. No idea either. What I will say is my first reaction was some type of civilian Afghan Airline patch. Did some googling and it didn't match. (At least what I found.) Second reaction was that the bird represented the Phoenix. Purely wild arse guesses.

Not sure I will ever know about this one. There are just so many many patches from the GWOT it will be a challenge to ID them all.

I've had luck using Google translate for an iPhone whilst researching some Ukrainian patches.

I use the handwriting feature to copy the writing a word at a time. Seems to work for Ukrainian to English, worth a shot Fromm arabic to English.

If it's afghan wouldn't the language be Dari or Pashto, not arabic?

My initial thought was of a a mythical PHOENIX... Task Force Phoenix, Camp Phoenix..... Perhaps the ANA has taken over command of such actions or base? Just my 5 cents worth.....DREW

Hi, is it possible that the patch in anyway related to one of the Indonesia airline? the logo in the center is very similar to their logo
