    Collection Intervention Empty Collection Intervention

Post by CamoDeafie Wed Aug 15, 2012 4:40 am

just saw a new show on SyFy channel....called "Collection Intervention"...didn't see much of it but apparently collecting things and growing collections is just as bad as hoarding!? Shocked there was a nice old lady who had a HUGE collection of Star Wars memorabilia, and two Hollyweirdos were trying to get her to sell off that collection via auction ,so that she could make money....presumably to pay bills and such...I get selling parts off, thats normal but the ENTIRE one? augh. this chafes my chaps.

Reality tv is utter crap. They are running out of ideas and are now resorting to belittling collectors and labeling them as "hoarders". GAG! Evil or Very Mad

I was watching Hotel Hell with the wife last night, and these two guys running an inn in NH had what he believed 400,000 dollars worth of antique chairs, paintings, and knick knacks. Turns out he was paying top dollar for crappy copies. Now he's saddled with junk on top of having to run a hotel.

When the collections takes over your life, it is just like being a hoarder. Sometimes people start collections, then lose interest and start other collections, and those collections pile up. I know, that has happened to me, and it can be hard to let those collections go.

I have seen that episode. I could spend a week inside that barn and easily spend a year's wages. Laughing

Agreed, I can't remember the county the guy lived in ( maybe Alabama ?) either way like you if I had the opportunity to just look around that barn, I would be in heaven, and could spend way too much money Smile
