Iraqi Body Armor Empty Iraqi Body Armor

Iraqi made vest that has soft armor sewn inside and all the pouches are sewn directly to the body of the vest. Also has outer pockets for hard plates.

Vest is well used and has no makers tags anywhere that I can see.

Interesting how it has 2 small buckles on each shoulder, I wonder inf the manufacturer had trouble sourcing large ones, or maybe the small ones are cheaper.

Thanks for the comments and information, fellers. A BIG thank you to Cap for finding the reference photo.

Here is a link to the article about the soldier in the photograph.

I'm glad you like it, I missed the school bus while searching for a picture of the vest in use, lost track of time.

I like looking for images because its like collecting but it doesn't cost money.

I don't know if you looked all the way through the photos in the article but are you sure all the pouches are sewn on?
The side pouches can be removed on Hussein's vest, and I think I see a tiny bit of velcro under the pouches on your vest.

Just checked my vest and all the pouches are sewn directly to the body of the vest.  The velcro on the second picture you posted is where the vest fastens on the sides.  Literally, the side pouches are sewn directly above the flaps that keep the vest on the soldier.  What they have done in the second picture is folded the side flaps with pouches underneath the main body of the vest.  As to why they did that.....not a clue.

Flap fully open to show the velcro. This is the same on both sides.
