Odd Type of LBT-0990 SF Pack?

so about 2 years ago I found one of these outside Ft Bragg in OD green and couldn't ID it. after a while I gave up and stuck it on eBay and it sold for $400 + shipping. it must be something rare as it went to a guy in mainland Asia that seemed to buy a lot of high end SOF gear. I felt bad about it as it was interesting but I didn't know what it was for sure so I didn't hold onto it. the other day I was looking thru eBay and found a junk lot that had what looked like the same bag but in tan so I bought it and its the same bag as the other but in tan. I still have not been able to find out what this pack is or what vest / harness it goes to. its got the same odd tag as the other and 1990 dated buckles which as I remember are about a year later then the OD pack (I think it had 1989 buckles).

does anyone know the model number and what this went on?



 

Unsure of the exact model but think the tags means that it is one of the earlier London Bridge trading pieces.. Think quite a few eBay listings will have "early gold tag" in the auction which means it's an earlier piece and this usually equates to a higher ending price. Will also explain the final buyers location... Not really my main area of collecting so may be off but pretty sure that's the gist...

thanks but this tag is actually pretty unique and not what they are referring to. these day anything with a "gold tag" is called old gen / school by sellers even though LBT still uses the gold tag with the email address on some items from time to time. most items have a black tag with red and white logo these days or paper tag (if they have a tag at all) these packs are the only items I have seen this tag on.

Nice find. It is the first/primitive version of the LBT-0990 Spec Ops Back Pack that was introduced in 1991.

thanks for the info and good to know , I didn't know the 0990 was that recent of an item. I have had a number of the later 757 gold label ones and a couple of the 804 silver label as well and they did seem the change over time. at some point they added a water proofing flap and started putting trim on the inside edges to prevent then from coming apart. its actually kind of neat to look at how different it started out.
