The woodland vest looks like it may have started out as an ANA LBV. Captured and used by the Taliban.

The best bring-back items that we have seen here. Not very common to see these objects backed with good sources like yours. BTW, These guys seem to fight in another war of 50 years ago..

I find the soviet belt very interesting. Is there any chance that he had fought against the communists in the 80's ?

While there is be a possibility, you should know these belts are all over the placre out there and a few years ago they were selling by the dozens every weekend at the local flea markets on BAF for $5 a piece. Now a days the belts are running $15 each when you can find them.
I'm curious to know if anyone can identify where it came from? The style of "b-dazzeling" looks like it may have ties to Baluchi tribes (their quilts use that type of design) so it might have come from the South, possibly RC-S or RC-SW (Kandahar, Helmand, Zabul, and maybe Oruzgon.
