Hello,

The year 2002, was a time when US troops were not in Afghanistan and that all foreign forces was under command of british forces. The french battalion was composed of 500 men.

Here is the insignea N°103 from HQ REPFRANCE (Pamir 1) dated 2002.

It was designed by Colonel Moné (1er Spahis) by 2002 and made in silver by Arthus Bertrand. Only 200 insigneas were made. It is coming with the sheet above which is written in english as this insignea has been offered also to foreign officers.

The badge is depicting horsemen practising the Buzkashi.
