    I was looking through Google Images last night and ran across this picture. According to the caption, these are Afghan Commandos circa 2011. Anyone else seen this pattern in use?

    Great photo Arch! Iv never seen this uniform in wear. Purely me guessing but i would think these guys are more likely to be ANP or some other police force. Just judging from photos the ANA commandos and SF seem to use mainly M4s or variants where as ANP special forces we see more AK variants.

    A good example being from your earlier thread with

    Afghan National Police Commander Azizullah

    That is an interesting pattern, though... like a slightly condensed woodland pattern.

    I vaguely recall reading that those guys were from the Crisis Response Unit (CRU) which I assume is part of ANP or the Ministry of the Interior. X2 to what aussie digger said about them.

    Okay. Makes more sense now. I had read an article that dealt with the counterfeit uniforms being made by insurgents and that to counter this, the NDS (part of the Ministry of the Interior) had adopted a new uniform. Nothing specefic on the pattern though.

    Or perhaps ANP ANCOP?
