Commercial sample. No doubt because of the labels. But sometime soldiers also use commercial items, in addition to the one that are issued to them...

I'd got the idea it was commercial just was sure if at some point going by the added Velcro it had been used by someone in the forces ?!? Cheers Rich

It is common for soldiers to buy commercial uniforms to supplement their issue uniforms.Richard101 wrote:I'd got the idea it was commercial just was sure if at some point going by the added Velcro it had been used by someone in the forces ?!? Cheers Rich
Just because it's commercially made doesn't mean it hasn't been worn in combat or other deployments.

I have a Propper set that was given to me by a co-worker who is an SF reserve medic. They look just like yours. I also know he took that set along with others on deployment. His deployment took place before MC was issued to everyone.
The commercial Propper I see around here for sale does not have Velcro for the name, rank, and branch tapes. It is possible those have been added or they just make different models of the shirt.

If it helps, I once had a very nice modified commercial true spec BDU cut multi cam (pockets placed on sleeves just like any other modified DCUs. It was before multi cam officially issued to everyone in Afghanistan. So anything is possible!

No just the jacket I wasn't sure if that was all the money or they were cheap so that's why I left off buying one

Very nice, and it's definitely not unheard of to have a commercially manufactured item, that has been used in combat

I would say real, I own some commercially made Propper and they don't have a NATO size on the labels [7080/0414]. USSOCOM used multicam long before before general issue and had no NSNs at the time. Also someone had to make them and Propper is a major US military contractor for all branches including the USCG.

Commercial gear. The %65 and %45 blend makes this MC top non resistant to fire unlike the issued ones.
