Really great idea. You have the patch and photographic evidence of it in use right next to it.

Really nice! Great display idea. I keep saying get these patches while you still can at the low prices. Down the road they are going to be in high demand. Just like the CIDG, RFPF, and LLDB, etc from Vietnam are now. My thoughts only ......

Merc asked me to show photos of how I display some of my patches. Basically, I got a $10 frame from Hobby Lobby and took a piece of scrap Multicam fabric and wrapped it around the fiber material that came with the frame. I then placed my patches in the frame as you see now.
These patches aren't anything major. I thought they were cool and figured they'd make a neat little display above my desk.
Before anyone goes ballistic about the Multicam fabric, it was used to wrap my Christmas present last year that my friend gave me. His father works in one of the two factories that makes Nomex material for the US Govt. This was some rejected fabric, so no actual Multicam garment was hurt in this process.

Nice ! That's a great idea...sadly, my collection of desert patches is too big for small frames...except if I buy 50 frames Just imagine 400 patches in small frames like this...I'ld pay more in frame than patches

Re: How to display the unique patches?
Since I've hundreds and hundreds of iraq patches. I buy the cd albums (that have 50 or 100 pockets. even the largest patches fit in there. Easy way to store a lot of patches, makes it easier to find them.
Framing select patches is always nice. A really inexpensive way to display is by poster frames, they come in many sizes. I then take the cardboard backing, using spray adhesive I attach some more/less neutral cloth, usually a khaki fabric. This maximises being able to see a patch and is better for large areas, camo works great in small frames as not such a large area.

Great idea I like the patches have been. In this way, you have to look at and not stored in the drawer. I might also add a metal insignia of the same unit (wings, badge, DUI, skills..) if these are small. This made me remember that I have to do the same with my USSF beret flashes collection.

Re: How to display the unique patches?
I don't go out of my way to collect current stuff, however I have displayed patches I was associated with during my time in the service (I served in Gulf War One, Somalia, OIF and OEF).
I framed some of the items my dad brought home from his tour in Vietnam, and beside it I framed like items to match it. Above each I mounted our bring-back helmets.

Here's an Iraqi SOF patch I mounted (was in Special Forces majority of my career, and so worked around them) with one of our PYSOP leaflets touting the prowess of Iraq's Special Ops guys.

Re: How to display the unique patches?
Just having a sort out of the collection before work and stumbled on this thread. Some great displays on offer.
Here is how I store my patches in a CD folder. It allows me to put notes with them.

A nice variety of different ways to display patches.
