Thanks Mate, I am pleased with it.
And thanks for the confirmation on it's usage, that's very handy information that CF recruits are using this kit.
Which is cool as it it's great to know it's still a current piece of CF militaria.

Re: Sleeping Bag -Bag Protective.
The regular force no more use these, they got the new rucksack. The reserve may still use these but I'm not 100% sure.

Re: Sleeping Bag -Bag Protective.
The Regular Force do use the valise(sleeping bag - bag protective). I was issued the new CADPAT ruck in 2007, and at that time we had to turn in the 82 pattern rucksacks and the valise. But then a couple weeks later we were told to go to base clothing and get a valise again. I got a brand new one, not sure if everyone did or not. As well the new rucksacks come with a CADPAT compression sack.
As for you guys wanting to get the new ruck, not going to happen. Not all Military pers in the CF are even entitled to it. Also if you do get your hands on it, it would most likely be stolen property as they are not going to be surplus items, at least not anytime soon.

I agree with Skeletor, be careful with Cadpat stuff, it's very rare to see an item to sell, some of them are been stolen. Each soldier is in charge of own equipments, he can't sell, trade or buy some cadpat items. But you can find one piece of cadpat in the surplus, it's very rare but not impossible.

Re: Sleeping Bag -Bag Protective.
I agree with skeletor too. The new version is kind of impossible to get. As an Ocdt, I've been issue a 82 pattern rucksack and the CF recruit sill use the 82 pattern too. Our instructor told us that the regular force no more use these rucksacks neither the feathers sleeping bags.

The 82 pattern rucksacks are still in use with some units as they are not entitled to the new rucksacks. I know all the Combat Arms get them(not sure about Tankers), and some Support units(have to be field units), but a lot of Support units still use the 82 pat. As for the sleeping bags, I haven't seen or heard of any new sleeping bags. I also haven't used that issue sleeping bag in years, bought a Snugpack sleeping bag and never been back to the issue one. Although if I do some hardcore winter ex in minus stupid degree weather I'll use the issue sleeping bag.

Re: Sleeping Bag -Bag Protective.
Sorry, i did not make myself clear about the sleeping bags. He said that he personally don't use the issued sleeping bag, he buy synthetic civies one, like others CF members.
