The other ones are novelty patches and not to a specific unit. The Iraqis do wear these novelty type patches on their uniforms so they're legitimate items, they've myriads of differnt ones. Interestingly you'll see army guys wearing swat patches.

That wiki link is a bit off in a couple of its statements. I am always dubious of wiki for that reason. There were in fact other units that used the term "Commando" before 2006. Well before actually, and they belonged to the MOI. The 36 Commando wasn't at the Lake Thar Thar battle, that was my Police Commandos, along with some Scouts from 3-69 Armor. And it wasn't 36 Commando that "helped secure the Golden Mosque in Samarra", unless it is a different time frame the wiki refers to. Which I doubt, since it didn't come into the greater picture until it was blown. At which time, I was about a block and half away, and was literally looking directly at it, as it went up! It was my team and our Police Commandos. The ODA was right next to us in our Patrol Base, and I never saw any 36 Commando around. Just our Police Commando. As a matter of fact, that ODA would often ask to accompany us on our missions, since they were on a different mission and under different restrictions. We were a way for them to "play". They are where I had my internet from, wireless, since they had their own system and we didn't have to rely on the crappy MWR computers, all two of them.

Do you have pics of the patches your commandos wore? Also pics of them in use? Always like to have ref. material.
