Re: Mannequin Displays
Arch,
Always nice to see some of your collection! Would this LBV was not modified would a normal
ground pounder during the Iraq invasion used a rig like this? I was looking at picking up a
standard setup like this for a display but since I am not a gear guy I am never sure what to
look at and get. Thanks Clete

Re: Mannequin Displays
No...this set up would be US Special Forces and Special Operations specific.

Clete, I might be misunderstanding you but this is not a normal LBV or modified, this SPEAR ELCS issued to special operations. Sorry if I am misunderstanding you.
Arch, nice setup

Re: Mannequin Displays
I am usually a strict military gear collector, but sometimes things arise that you just can't turn down. Oddly enough, this piece is actually one of my favorite pieces in the collection.
This is the screen worn body armor used by Charlie Hunnam (Ironhead) in the Netflix original movie Triple Frontier.
A large portion of this movie was shot in Hawaii and the vest was found there by a good friend of mine. The only thing missing from the vest was the D ring (carabiner) and the tourniquet.
Interestingly enough, the magazines are movie props and are made of a plastic resin material.

Re: Mannequin Displays
Thanks for the comments. One of the reasons I grabbed it was because of the fact that the movie was actually about the drug wars/drug trade in South America. If you know me, you know that is one of the many areas I collect. LOL!
