I need a mannequin like that, but I think it would scare the sh*t out of me when I'm taking a late-night piss. Very Happy

Before my daughter went off to college, I used to place my mannequin right in front of her door at night and it would scare her to death! I thought it was hilarious. She didn't think so.

USMC didn't use night camo uniform in early OEF. But if you swap the DCU pants to DBDU pants, you would have nice Desert Storm SF display.

ubershave, true story.... I have mannequin and it took me few days to get used to it staring at me. But one day it started to talk to me and eventually we became good friends. Well, long story short, my loved ones got worried so they sent me to see doctor. I feel better now....

i dont got choc chip pants...still looking for a good set of 80s contract choc chip pants..and the USMC DCU was the only un-named random combat DCU I got that would fit the gear/time period since my other uniforms are either newer, AIrborne, Flight, USAF, Logistics, QM, Air Defense, 10th Mtn...wait...would 10th mtn DCU work with it?

You're right that the night camo isn't an iconic look, but it was used.

You're right, I went and re watched the video I got if from multiple times and it was actually a green square mesh hood thing, but with the light color of his face and the background it looked like night desert camo to me. Sorry.

I think this is my first message on this forum.

I have one of the USMC night camo parkas. I have nothing to go with it.

I am new to collecting modern militaria. I mainly collect WWII-Cold War items.

    When were these parkas used?
Did they have a standard cover to go with it?
Did they have matching trousers to go with it?

Where might I look to find info about what I have?

    Thank you and best regards,
    Marko

    welcome to the forum.

regarding your question: These were part of the old desert battledress uniform, so they were used atleast in theory during the DBDU time frame. let's say 1981 to 1991, when the desert uniform commonly known as Chocolate chip was replaced by the DCU (3 color desert camouflage uniform). Clearly the former were used until much more late, replacing a uniform and reissuing a different camouflage takes time.

there isn't headgear to go with it, the standard issued set was composed of parka, trousers, parka liner and trouser liner. The liners are the typical quilt ones, infact they are interchangeable with the m65 liners, but the night camo parka ones are longer (they have a different stock number).

Commercial uniforms, patrol caps, pasgt vest and helmet covers existed, but they are commercial.
