Swedish Desert Top Empty Swedish Desert Top

Post by bryanbg Fri Feb 10, 2017 5:06 am

At a surplus shop in Columbus, GA I picked up this Swedish desert top.  Interesting feel to the material.  My wife felt that it may be a very good quality light weight cotton.  As it has a slight "plastic" texture feel to it she thought that it may possibly be a treated material which would help moisture wick away.

Though I don't generally look for foreign military items, this was priced fairly cheap.

Swedish desert anything is very scarce and desirable .

The " plastic " texture feel may be due to the ripstop construction but also to the insecticide permethrin, which is banned in the EU.

Uniforms treated with the insecticide can vary in shade of color.

These uniforms are usually tightly controlled and turn ins are usually destroyed making your blouse  fairly scarce and reasonably valuable.

Your particular blouse seems to be an earlier production Sri Lanka made piece. Very nice BTW..
