Vel Tye Hugger Plate Carrier- Reproduction?

I have never owned Vel Tye Hugger plate carrier so I don't know how to tell apart from real and fake. From my understanding, original would have mfg and size tag. This one doesn't. I got it for very cheap. Probably too good to be true.

judging from overall manufacture i'd say it is a replica, expecially due to the different shoulder strap webbing and the tan d rings instead of black ones.

But maybe i am wrong due to light...is there evidence of a cut carry handle?

if you recognize it to be the same as this, then it is a replica model.

Thanks. Talked to one guy. Said there are many different vatiety of Huggers so sometimes each of them have little different features. However, they would have mfg tags. Mine has none so I am very sure it is a reproduction. What is the market value for repro ones? So I can dump it on ebay.

Wow, I didn't think Vel Tye was a prominent enough manufacturer that there were replica/airsoft/Chinese copies being made.

Never underestimate the market of airsoft.

When you buy modern field gear always assume that everything has been copied. Everything down to the less probable items.

You probably won't be fooled by a replica halo altimeter, but lot of items are different only in small details. While now they are quite easy to spot (expecially when you have them in your hands) in the future memory of little details will be forgotten and i won't be surprised to see fake items in real collections (ifthe collecting trend will still give these items a collector value).
