No makers name or tags anywhere, but this one certainly looks to be Afghan made. This is a medic's chest rig with most of the medical items still inside. First one of these that I have seen.

Forgot to mention that the top right hand package is full of medical items and has been "Seal-A-Meal"ed (vacuum sealed).

Thanks for all the positive comments. In answer to your question, Jason, there doesn't appear to have been any pouches added to the front that I can tell.

Lovely, inspired for sure by Skedco "Pringle" medic chest rig. Does it have the map sleeve and extra buckles on the backside?
I guess afghans copied everything that passed in their sight. I snatched myself a couple of replicas of the paraclete concealment vest as well as another variation of a Blackhawk chest rig, i'll post pics when they come to my door.

Good work tracking down the design. Im not sure how pratical this would have been as a combat rig. Add some mag pouches and im guessing this would be very bulky!

This may be the reason this rig has sen very light use, Jason.aussie digger wrote:Good work tracking down the design. Im not sure how pratical this would have been as a combat rig. Add some mag pouches and im guessing this would be very bulky!

Re: Afghan Made Medic Chest Rig
i have one of the skedcos. When the medical compartment is full it becomes basically cylindrical, i guess it's not comfortable at all. Infact, while the skedco has an NSN and at some point small numbers have been bought by DOD to be issued to medics i didn't manage to find one photo of it in use or a model for sale that wasn't in mint condition. Maybe you who pick a lot of items directly from surplus stores had a better luck of finding an used example.

I saw a SKEDCO Pringle medic rig this weekend at surplus store around one of the large bases and it was completely brand new too. I have always wanted one, but like my items to be used.

Nice rig !
Well, I am asking more and more Afghan made equipments to Afgha's vets and most of soldiers are still using them. So it tends to prove that they are good quality gears for a reasonnable/cheap price. Some are passing on theirs to replacement troops too. I met a Gendarme who sold me his Artkis chest rig which has a very light use. I was a bit surprised but he told me that he worn it over but he is always trying to take care of his gears because in this case, for him it was an only 6 months deployement and he will have to resale it afterward.

Re: Afghan Made Medic Chest Rig
Interesting. All of my friends which went to Afghanistan told me that they were using afghan items just because they were the only items available. These items are just left in their closet after deployment or after better replacements are issued. I try to advice my fellows that these items could hold a value for collectors (they just don't know and don't believe about it), so they can recoup some money they can use to buy items they really need in the field.
My friend was more than happy when i gave him some 100 round soft pouches for the m249 (italian army doesn't issue them, but soldiers love them) and i asked him to give me his body armour https://oefoif.forumotion.net/t4332-aghan-made-body-armour-cover-and-modified-uniform
Back on topic this is a similar design made by Sotech (no NSN on this), which has integrated pouches for 12 magazines.
This came from a corpsman set of items and you can see how molle webbing has been cut off so the medical compartment could be expanded and crammed with even more supplies.
