Fedayeen Helmet ~ Nice Addition to my collection ~

Hello fellow collectors,

I thought I'd post this helmet....previous owner was a US Marine during initial invasion. Captured and brought back; stored until he decided to sell it off to me. It has found a great home.


Does anyone know the estimated # of these produced (or Fedayeen troop strength at the time we invaded in 03') ?

Nice helmet! There was one listed on eBay some time ago for $100,000. I think the seller made a typo on the price.

Wasn't Uday obsessed with Star Wars, hence the design?

I am curious as to the estimate on the production run.....

Uber cool Lid, sorry no idea on the production run though.

Alledgedly and according to my research the lid was based on ancient middle eastern designs, rather than influenced by Western designs....

I still think Saddam's kid was a HUGE Star Wars fan, who would have thought George Lucas would have influenced a Fedyadeen lid eh

I know (and know of) a lot of guys who have good stuff too....

there's an example of the fedayeen helmet in the imperial war museum ,salford quays ,manchester england also i believe there are very good reproductions on the auction websites even these command a great price even though they are listed as repo's so as to the value of the real deal its gonna be very high

I was there during the invasion and brought back three of these helmets. I found two in Baghdad and one under a palm tree near Hilla. The one in Hilla also had a set of black coveralls laying next to the helmet.

I've heard about therebeing approx 20,000 helmets but I also heard stories of thousands of helmets being destroyed buy units that found boxes of them in the early days of the war.
