This is a Russian belt that was graciously given to me by an active US 7th Group Special Forces operator. He has been in Afghanistan twice.. I would call him an acquaintance rather than a friend (I'm not high speed enough to roll with him)....
At any rate, he stated he had pulled this off a "still warm" Taliban KIA (one of many) that his team dispatched on a particular mission in 2008. He described the location as out in the middle of nowhere.
This operator was also awarded the Silver Star for action during that tour. He carried a wounded team member (on his shoulder) out of an ambush site under heavy direct fire. He took a shot in the ACH and ESAPI right-side plate....he showed me the "lifesavers".
