Marsouin of the 21ème RIMA, december 2001, Mazar-e-Charif, Afghanistan

Here comes a "Marsouin" (a French "Marine") of the 21ème RIMA, in Mazar-e-Charif airport, in december 2001. 21ème RIMA was the first French unit on Afghan ground during Operation Enduring Freedom, to secure the airport with Légionnaires from 1er REG.

I was told later, that a real French "Marine" would never have shown muddy boots like mine on the picture. The "Marine" keep a lot of care for their uniforms and equipments, and they are proud of that.
