Canadian door gunner kandahar 2009

Hi guys,

I would like to introduce you my Canadian door gunner, Kandahar 2009. Every parts are used, the coveralls and the jackets are from the same soldier, a master corporal Canadian Army. The coverall and jacket have Chinook patches on their sleeve. Nametag on the chest and Canadian flag. He wear a HGU/56P helmet, a Air Warrior PSGC (Primary Survival Gear Carrier), a plate carrier flexible body armor.
Nothing is in mint condition, every items has been used, some in Afghanistan and others, I have no idea. Just enjoy the pics.

Next step, I will get a plastic mannequin to share my stuff in better view

Your grouping is georgous and it is probably not so easy for collecting all of this gears in Canada.

At the bookstore where I work, I met one canadian who did Afghanistan in a chopper's maintenance unit and we were talking about costs of war... he said that for each canadian chopper which is taking off, you've got two Griffons to cover the mission. Is that true ?

Hi JYN, I think you want to say chinook instead of chopper, because this word is just a slang word for a helicopter. The aircraft is always known among the aviation community as a helicopter, never chopper.

BTW, I think the chinook need an escort with Griffons helicopters, but it depends on the mission.

As I told you by mail : that's a fu***** nice grouping ! I realy love it and I'm realy jaleous of your helmet and aircrew body armor (they both miss me in my collection !!!)

Hi PE, thanks for your comments, I will show you in couple weeks my officier griffon pilot. Do you need a file for you, I mean plate carrier's file???

Yes, it'll be great if you can send me high resolution pictures of your body armor (front-back-label). It'll serve me for my article. I already have a few pictures of it, but they are poor quality so I'll change them.

Yes, it's true. The Chinooks were always escorted by Griffons when flying missions even though they were armed with three guns. The Griffons would also fly separate missions such as convoy over watch or close combat assault.
