Iraqi patches are a changing Empty Iraqi patches are a changing

My friend from Iraq went down to the market for me to check out the latest patches.
The Iraqi's are changing to the rubber patches now and the cloth and plastic are almost non existent.
Here is a picture of what he sent me. The rubber patches (some call them PVC patches) have Velcro on
the reverse and are from a 1/16 to 1/8 inch thick and fairly flexible.
The red border Punisher, the brown border Punisher, the two 5.11,Iraqi Army, flag with eagle, cannon and the
air defense patches are cloth. The white skull on black is plastic and the rest are rubber.

I've never understood the Iraqi Army's infatuation with 5.11 logos.. Its like having Under Armour branding on everything. Just strange.

I've come to accept it as the same kind of behavior that saw them wearing knee pads around their knees and a second set around their ankles. Form over function; tactical fashion.

    Thanks for the reply guys.
The Iraqis have run the gambit on patches. First cloth patches sewed on, cloth patches
with Velcro, plastic patches with Velcro, metal patches with Velcro and now rubber patches.
You would think the plastic and metal patches would stick out and catch on everything. Who
knows, maybe after all these trials, they'll end up back to cloth patches again.
Below are some samples of the metal and plastic being worn
