Guide on Buying Mannequins Empty Guide on Buying Mannequins

    Post by Mercenary25 Mon Jan 19, 2015 10:24 pm

I have seen a lot of people asking where to buy mannequins. Fortunately for us, the GWOT collectors, we don't have a problem with mannequin sizes that World War I or II collectors faced with. Modern uniforms can fit "taller than average" modern mannequins. However, unfortunately, we encounter two typical problems with mannequins:

    -Feminine faces
    -Modeling poses

One issue with ALL mannequins are for some reason, they have feminine eyelashes. Personally I trimmed them very short or simply take them off.

So here, I will share some links to ebay sellers that have very good mannequin with good manly and militarily poses and faces. You will see some is insanely priced but I have watched the prices change. Sometimes being listed for between $100-150 then price changed to over $1,000 with best offer option, eventually, price will go back to normal.

First series are from the seller, mannequinmaven. There are three good poses, all with identical head scuplt. Better yet... those have BEARD! Perfect for OEF SF displays. Also surprising, it works well as middle eastern soldier as shown by Connor (cybercarnage). I took a liberty of borrowing a couple of photos from his original thread: Iraqi Displays

Third one with a nice pistol pose:

NOTE: If you find some great mannequins, share here!!!! Help out your fellow collectors.

Here is potentially great mannequin. Because the head looks to another direction, it will be perfect to display unit patched helmet while showing gear clearly. This is likely will be my next mannequin.

Here is a good mannequin for smaller size uniforms and gear. More expensive though.
