To give a little background for the collection, it came from a US OIF veteran who worked with the Ukrainians at the same base. When the Ukrainians were leaving, they dumped a lot of their stuff in a dumpster.
I met up with the veteran who sold the Ukrainian items to me at a show, and he was kind enough to share some of his photos with me.
Here's some information about his time with the Ukrainians:
"My platoon-1st pltn, Bco.-moved to Al Kut in November 03 to train the Iraqi Civil Defense Corp(ICDC). Over a four month period we trained an 800 man battalion-half of whom went to the Ukrainians at Kut and the the other half went to the Polish army at Babylon."
And one of the photos that I find most interesting...
"When the first contingent of their troops-36th Mechanized Infantry-were getting ready to go home, they started throwing all of their old uniforms and equipment away. Their dumpsters were overflowing with bags of equipment and uniforms."
