    Hi everyone,

Here's probably one of my favorite helmets. I purchased it without a liner, which is a bit frustrating but you know what, it's still a great piece. A friend told me he looked at one at a show once and the guy who had it told him they were used by Iraqi marine units. Woodland Camoflauge M80 Helmet Index

A great addition to your collection. In my experience, painted helmets from Iraq are few and far between.

I like this one a lot, not too sure if it's Iraqi Marine, but that's not say it isn't!! The cradle missing does not detract from this piece IMHO, I would be proud to own this one, many thanks for sharing it with us here, and I look forward to seeing more of your Iraqi lids, as I am a particular fan of this genre.

Painted m-80's to my knowledge were used by ( but not exclusively)the Elite units, Para,RG etc, so maybe Marines too!

I wasn't exactly sure about the Marine thing either but I agree painted helmets are usually used by more elite units. I just wish it had the suspension system because I would like to make a Republican Guard display with it!! This is probably the best helmet I have!

Totally agree, perhaps you could use a US M1-73 cradle for display purposes, but I'm sure you've already thought of this, very cool lid Connor, no matter what it's origins!
