Belgium has a very small army, and most of the time when soldiers are deployed it's a very small contingent, and 4 months rotations. For each mission an official patch is made + nearly all unit make an extra unit patch for a specific rotation. That means there're a large variety of patch, but extremly difficult to find because always produced in a small quantity. Collecting them is both frustrating and pleasant, because they're soo difficult to find Smile

Hughes, your theater made patch is fantastic !

One of the coolest Belgian army patches set !! The 349th Squadron designed a series of patches for his deployment Operation Desert Falcon (staging area : Jordan - campaign against Daesh in Syria and Iraq). There're various patch for the each element of the Task Force :

     A FEW BELGIAN PATCHES - Page 3 Captur12

MOC : MOC personnel [not sure - military operations center ?]
DETCO : not sure what it means, possibly Detachment command
AVX : Maintenance - Avionics specialists
D-Team : Director of Operations, Director of Maintenance Operations, Director of Defense & Support Operations.
LeA : Maintenance - Line & Armament specialists.
Cell Engine : Maintenance - Cell & Engine specialists.
    FP : Force protection
Ground Support : Maintenance - Ground Support personnel
    GLO : Ground Liaison Officers
Mission Planning : Mission Planning team
    Intel : Intelligence Team
Mission Support : Mission Support personnel (Operations, Air Traffic Control, Fire Department,...)
    Medic : medical detachment
CIS : Communication and Information System specialists

All together, the result is this large patch :

     A FEW BELGIAN PATCHES - Page 3 Fullse12

Based on the 349th shop :

"It all started as a small one-patch project for the 349 support personnel going to Jordan but it became the biggest patch project we ever did!
One patch became two, two patches quickly turned into four, four became seven, seven turned into eleven and after some final tweaking, we ended up with a set of FIFTEEN (!!!) patches in total! While everything started with an "Intel/Mission Planning" patch, the whole set now includes all personel that participated in 349's deployment to Jordan, supporting the fight against Daesh in Iraq and Syria.
    "

I am kind of speechless on this one P-E, who would have thought about this and to include a Star Wars theme. I really like it
but crazy how they cam up with the idea and put the idea into real life. Tough collecting all of these i bet. Nice and thanks!

Since recently, the 349th Squadron let the opportunity for collectors to buy some patches. They are very limited produced, so they usually don't stay long on the website. In this case, for example, it's possible to buy the whole lot all together in one time. In a few months, it won't be available anymore, so I didn't hesitated Smile

Smart move, you have to act when the opportunity presents itself P-E. Put together it would be great in a display!
