Contractor Items - MPRI and General Dynamics Empty Contractor Items - MPRI and General Dynamics

Post by Nkomo Mon May 07, 2012 2:27 am

I picked these two items up this weekend.

Jacket is from the contractor MPRI (Military Professional Resources Incorporated). This military contractor specializes in Command, Control and Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C3ISR), government services, training and simulation, and aircraft modernization and maintenance, and has the broadest base of electronic systems in the industry. L-3 is also a major provider of homeland defense products and services.

They have also done a lot of work with the drug wars in South America, training in Iraq and Afghanistan, etc.

Next is a polo type shirt from General Dynamics who helped design and build the MAGTF Combat Operations Center. MAGTF stands for Marine Air Ground Task Force.

Basically, the COC does the following:
"COC is the United States Marine Corps program of record for providing Command and Control capabilities to Marine Operational Forces wherever and whenever they fight. The program provides scalable Operations Centers from Battalion through Marine Expeditionary Forces (MEFs).
COCs are built from Capability Sets, or CapSets. CapSets use common, modular and scalable building blocks which are re-configurable to adapt to mission needs. CapSets can be scaled up or down to provide required capabilities at different echelons.
The COC supports the warfighting pillars by providing Tactical Data Systems (TDS) to the unit, including Command and Control (C2), maneuvers, fires, intelligence, logistics and administrative systems."

I have a pair of nice DCU's from MPRI and when I get time to dig them out I can show some pics as well. Your blurb about them is all I know (but I never took the time to follow up with it either).

General Dynamics C4 Systems helped to push forward the Homeland Defense Surveillance and Data Collection Systems. It's a really neat and lethal package that is currently in use in the US and abroad. Nice looking shirts.
