    Hello all,

Just figured I'd help fill this topic.

I've had this for maybe 10 months now. It was a bring back item by a now retired CWO-3. I am not familiar with all the items that are allowed to bring back, but this one fell under "relic" pre-1859.

I know a few of guys who are certified gun gurus, and they said this one was a muzzle loader converted to breach load @ some time in its life time.... .577 calibur I believe it is.

I trust it has seen a bit of action affraid.

You lucky son of a gun....that is one AMAZING piece of history right there. I would give my left nut to have something with that much history behind it

Also, I forgot to mention that I was told it was a cavalry "short barrel" model....

Actually I think it's the short rifle as it has two barrel bands and full stock whereas the carbine had one band.

This is still one of my favorite pieces....I was just handling it the other day. Makes you wonder where some of items (we post on this forum) have been and whose hands they have passed through....
