I got this recently, don't know if it's Arktis, Wyvern, or whatnot, but it looks very British. Does anyone know what it is?

Interesting piece, any labels or give away clues like that?

Nothing, that's what has me stumped. It looks like a very British layout, but the weird toggles blow my mind. It smells and feels old, like 1980s old, and is well built. I'm going to try some AK and M16 magazines, and see if I can scare up some 7.62 magazines to test fit.

Re: Mystery British Assault Vest
the shoulder design and extra zipper pouches are VERY similar to the Web-Tex assault vest designs from the 90s; and similar to the Viper All Arms vests as well; but the fasteners...they do not match the "Spanish clip" or the side-release buckles used by most UK tactical gear...so all I can think is....possibly of European manufacture? something at least close to the UK in terms of tac gear systems and such? the tab locks looks similar to the Swedish FixLock system used by the IDF; but I cannot find any info on if these are the same...

G'day guys. just to throw a spanner in the works lol, the pouch clips are IDENTICAL to the Aussie ADF webbing pouch clips of the 90s, check out any ADF 90s or "Op Solace" Somalia grunt picks and you'll see what i mean. Apart front that i have no idea.... good luck with the ID.
Cheers, Aj

you may be onto something. didnt the ADF use very similar equipment as the UK; just with different camo and possibly closures?

Some of it was very similar mate, i don't ever remember seeing anything like this when i was in (1990-97) but that dosn't mean it wasn't trialed or put forward to the ADF by somebody.

Well, I'll keep digging. Thanks for the tip about the Australian connection, hadn't even considered that. Who are the big gear houses down there?
