I stumbled across it in the surplus store so I had to pick it up because I'm always interested in Germany (Especially because of beers!) It is missing the green ISAF patch with velcro backing and the some kind of tabs on both arms, above the German flag is stripped (it would be great if some of you could ID what tab would be). Thanks for looking at it!

Re: German ISAF Desert Jacket
Very cool jacket Merc.
I'm not too sure what patches were there originally, I bet collecting Steve over at IACMC would know though.
I am curious why this piece has the Sturm stamp on it, seems to be a theme over your side of the pond, what the deal with Sturm, do they buy in Euro surplus and stamp it with Sturm.

Re: German ISAF Desert Jacket
Just a small heads-up the rankslide on the left hand side in the first picture is upside down and therefore on the wrong side. The stripes should be on the lower end.
The small green ribbon below the rank sildes indicate the branch of service:
green = Infantry
pink = Armour
lemon yellow = Signal
orange = MP
blue = Logistics/ Technical or Medical
gold yellow = Armoured Recon
red = Artillery
maroon = NBC
light grey = Army Aviation
black = engineers
coral = air defence
white = Army Band

Re: German ISAF Desert Jacket
The missing tabs would be "GERMANY" ones.
In addition to the branch colors, mentioned before: dark blue = Medical Service, crimson = General Staff

No problem with the "Sturm" stamp. MilTec by Sturm is an official supplyer of the LHBw.

Re: German ISAF Desert Jacket
I know this is almost 4 years old but I thought I would post for the future. Sturm is a european surplus wholesaler. I accually bought tropentarn and flek to sell at the shop. Mine don't have those stamps but thats where it came from.
