I apologize about next picture not being OEF/OIF but at least there's DCU. (Somalia)
Post more pictures if you have some! I for one, would like to see more ideas so I could use for future public displays.
Hello, is that this museum has a website? because I'd like to see more photos of this museum and the collection.
Thank you in advance

This it the Infantry Museum that opened here at ft. benning a couple years ago, incredbile place. They have an original waco glider hanging from the ceiling as well as displays with a uh1, bradley and other goodies.

New Women's Museum Exhibit Features Kentucky National Guard Sergeant
Photo by Staff Sgt. Jon Soucy
February 03, 2007
Sgt. Leigh Ann Hester, Kentucky Army National Guard’s 617th Military Police Company, reads the information panels on a new war on terrorism exhibit at the Army Women's Museum at Fort Lee, Va., during the exhibition's opening, Feb. 3. The exhibit showcases the contributions women have made in the war on terror, and features as the centerpiece a life-size diorama of the actions of Hester and her squad-mates during a March 20, 2005, ambush by insurgents near Baghdad. Hester was awarded the Silver Star for her actions, becoming the first woman to receive the medal since World War II.

Re: Display ideas
Thanks for this picture. I'm curious...: both helmet's chin straps have a "pull the dot" on them...see :
I'm curious, because I never saw this kind of chin strap before...Reproduction helmet ? or commercial chin strap ? private purchase helmet ?

Re: Display ideas
P-E, good eye! I'm not even sure what it is supposed to be. I'm guessing a terrible reproduction of ACH?
After stumbled across this photo of exhibit, I researched more on Sgt. Leigh Ann Hester, who was the first female soldier to recieve the silver star. Found this interesting article. http://www.ng.mil/features/silverstar/hester.aspx

No, PASGT chin straps have well a "pull the dot", but it's not at this place on chin strap... And both helmets have a curious form...they look very discarded. And helmet cover don't fit perfectly on helmet...
Well, I compared some details (original picture of her/mannequin inside museum) and there's some difference :
- pouches on mannequin look coyote brown / on original pict of her, pouches are green :
- brown strips (in camo) show some differences for both OTV and helmet cover.
My conclusion is the museum don't show her original stuff...and helmets are probably reproductions...

Re: Display ideas
Here is a display I did for a local Veterans Appreciation event. Nothing fancy or complicated. I just displayed mannequins with uniforms and gear. The next time I do a display though, I will inclide either a maroon or black table cover.

Re: Display ideas
I liked the display. There you can see the representation of all special ops units that participated in the first phase of Operation Enduring Freedom. Good job!

I know, ironically though, the tight, form fitting way of wearing them that is the norm is actually working against the concept of wearing camo covers to begin with. That whole breaking up the outline thingy

Plus the holster is the wrong color, the ammo pouches are the wrong color, and no portable radio.

I'll also post non OEF/OIF just for ideas which can be used for OEF/OIF displays.
This is a great temporary display but it is actually terrible for the care and preservation of uniforms. Hanging uniforms from hangers is one of the worst methods of display and storage because all the weight isplaced on one part of the uniform. The best method for storage is laying a uniform flat.
