I agree, looks like the bidding war has been called off. I could not believe there were two bidders willing to pay over $3,000 bucks. Evidently one of the bids was a huge mistake.
I was hoping it would be my explanation but I think yours is more apt MyZone. That is just sad for all of us - collectors and dealers - hard to say who is the biggest loser on this: Without dealers buying stuff would be so much harder but when the seller gets hosed too many times he stops selling and then the buyer loses because the vendor stops selling. Seller losers money on the initial item and all future sales they might have had. The collector has one less dealer to buy from to enhance our collections. We both lose. Hopefully a veteran seller would see this and stop the auction - can you do that MyZone? Does eBay allow that? I only buy these days and not sure of the selling rules any longer. Thanks Clete
Yeh, you can stop an auction on ebay, as well as cancel a bidder's bid, with a reason of course. It's still aggravating as you have to restart the auction.
I am sure other members can speak of their own experiences, but I know that I get contacted all the time by members (usually brand new members) who hit me up to sell certain pieces from my collection. Many of these members are from the areas that you mentioned, MZ. I am nice and politely decline their offers. Guess what? Never hear from them again. Imagine that.
