A necklace, bracelet and two sets of earrings which I purchased at the military show two weeks ago.
Information on these items is very hard to find. I had heard about these items back in 2006 and passed up
a chance to purchase them from a different source.
They are from the 1980-88 Iran- Iraq War Era. From what I have found out, Iraqi Women turned in their gold to
Saddam and received the jewelry in return. I don't know how much had to be "donated" to receive this.
I have seen another style of earrings so there may be several different styles out there.
The necklace clasp, all the large necklace pieces with stones in them, earrings, bracelet pieces with stones and the bracelet
clasp are stamped with what roughly translates to "Made form Qadissiyat Saddam Martyr's Weapons and gilted by the Brave
Iraqi Women Gold".
If anyone else has more information on these items, please post it here.
