I wanted to share this photo. The two identical green patches with the eagle and arrow and the matching crest were worn by the PRC in Laghman Province in 2011. The story goes as such: When the PRC was stood up, most of the Afghans did not want to roll on missions and it was generally the same Afghans that did want to go out. So the ODA CPT came up with this insignia (it is actually based on a Thai Army badge), and held a surprise formation, and called out the PRC members who had gone on five High Risk Arrests. Once assembled, the ODA pinned the crest on their uniform and gave them the patch for their kit. When the next mission came up, almost everyone wanted a piece of that so they could earn their insignia. These crests and badges were tightly controlled and had to be earned. Supports what napoleon said about soldier doing anything for a piece of ribbon.
