Eagle Rhodesian Recon Vest
Eagle RRS-V-MS-UCA Rhodesian Recon Vest in ACU color. Anyone know who these are being used by in the Army? SF types? Infantry?

I know this vest was used by SF or other SOF guys but I don't know about ACU patterned one. It is cool vest either ways.

Re: Eagle Rhodesian Recon Vest
There is a khaki Eagle Ind. RRV in the SFLCS kit. Ive never seen pics of SOF guys using ACU ones.
Here is a pic that came out recently

There are only a few pics floating around of SF guys using SFLCS RRVs. They dont seem to use them very often.

I like the Mirage pattern. Seems very effective.

No, it is Bulldog's Mirage pattern, it has semi-similar coloration but it is for sure Mirage. It has a much higher pixel count than ACU or UCP-D

UCPD is in ACU color but with coyote brown added.
This SF guy apparently has privately purchased Mirage pattern. As matter of fact, this is the only picture I've seen Mirage in actual uses in Afghanistan.

So...if the vest was used in the khaki color, then it could have been used in the ACU pattern as well. Lots of odd gear popping up around the bases right now.

I can tell you that it is used by SOF but I don't know which.

Infantry used RRVs in ACU. Eagle made one that doesnt have the ALICE channels under the MOLLE webbing, and no internal plate pocket, that was priced at about $60 and sold in AAEFS(sp?) shops. Ive never seen SOF with an ACU RRV though. Its rather seldom that you see SOF guys with ACU gear.
Here is a pic of it.

Rangers have used Ranger Green RLCS RRVs as well.
Overall, you dont see them in use very much these days. They are a relatively old design.

Re: Eagle Rhodesian Recon Vest
Thanks for all the answers. The one I bought does have a place for the plate on the back side. Like I said....there is a lot of odd ACU gear popping up around the bases now. In fact, DCU uniforms and items are getting scarce down in these parts.

Wow, I didn't know that regular ol' infantry would also used this type of vest.

Actually, fire force and chest mag pouches of varying manufacture and construction have gotten the nickname as Rhodesian type, it's not meant that they were used in Rhodesia.
Here's an example: http://www.triadtactical.com/RHODESIAN-RECONNAISSANCE-Vest.html
Think everyone here pretty much knows nothing remotely like that was used during the Rhod war.

Please post these pics when you get a chance. Reference photos are always good to have with a thread.

Hello Alexd, the second picture belongs to my friend. I had his permission when I posted it on the forums, I would appreciate it if you could ask me permission to use it. Thanks.

Is that please possible to use the servimg system we have aboard this forum to upload pictures ? It'll be great not using photobucket, picasa or other uploader system because if one day you project to remove these pictures from your private album for any reason (for example a lack of place), then the pictures are also removed from the forum. This is something we try to avoid, because topics lost their interest without the pictures in them. Thanks in advance for your comprehension !
@ Alexd,
Thanks for the pictures. I've edited your post to delete the picture you removed from your private album because of the current "dispute". I can't let a ghost of a former picture in a post. Hope it's not a problem for you. I thank you for your comprehension.

Re: Eagle Rhodesian Recon Vest
AlexD, no problem.
The only places I've posted this picture is in here and on USMF. I'm amazed at how one picture could fly around on net.
Ok, back on this topic, here is a RRV vest which has been worn by my friend who was in 1st Cav. The very RRV that was seen on the picture AlexD posted.
