    Tan ACH

Post by nkomo on Fri Jul 02, 2010 11:22 pm

A friend of mine recently bought a tan ACH made by Gallett. It is a factory paint job, as opposed to a spray paint one. It is dated 2007 on the crown. Friend told me it was a TAC-P used item. I have never seen a tan version before. Any thoughts? Seems by 2007, all the new helmets made for the Army would have been the ACU color. The USAF ACH's I've seen are green.

    Hello again,

As I answered you by pm, yes, they also wear tan ACH (factory made paint).

Well, on pictures it's hard to tell if it's hand or factory paint, but I aleady seen ACH in Germany with factory tan paint. In majorities of case, they are used by USAF guys (not only TACP), without helmet cover. And yes, it's less common than green ACH.

And I think Gallet is the same factory than MSA. Gallet's a well know factory here in Europe because they do some helmets for some armies, and principally french army !

    Hope this helps,

    P-E

Thanks for the replies. I thought the tan color was something a little different.

Army SF, SEALs, and DEVGRU can be seen using tan MICH helmets nowadays. The Gallett MICH you have is commonly used by AFSOC guys (I think). SF/SEALs seem to get MSA MICH helmets more often.
