Hey are there any ranger patches attached i couldn't see the picture real well since i'm on my phone. Also the unit that is on your DCU is under the 21st sustainment command in Germany and most of there DCU patches are theatre made. My jacket I got today was an 18th engineering brigade with theatre made patches. Jake

    Great DCU Merc. Cool

Gotta get me an MP DCU, Very hard to find a nice one. Anyone got any idea how the MP armband fits to the jacket at the shoulder ?? the armband i have has a loop on the back at the top but i havnt seen a jacket with a button or anything else on the shoulder to hold it, maybe a safety pin ??

    Cheers

Yes it would be a safety pin or something similar. I've seen a military version of a safety pin to hold cords and armbands on. Jake

I think Navjax is right about the safety pin idea for the Army. I know the USAF Security Police uses buttons on the sleeve. I have several examples of USAF SP DCU's where they have buttons sewn on the left sleeve.

Yes, Nkomo has right. There's jacket that have button on their shoulder to attach armbands. But there's some model of armband (I love telling they are all different) and so, some way to attach them on jacket as safe pin, not only button !

Here's some system of attachment :

as seen on this picts :

Here's another system with button (or safe pin) :

I have also seen sf jackets where the soldier airman or whoever just sowed the armband on the sleeve. Jake

I just found same jacket, same person, same SSI sets, same theater made 89th SSI, but different location!

This one is a bit different because apparently it has in-country made flag! I have never seen it before.

Hi folks, I found this topic very interesting and more specially the SF armband, even if I have already seen the thread about them.

Do you know if it s easy to find a SF armband?? This kind of armband is just used bu the USAF personal??

Armband are not only worn by USAF. But I well think SF armbands (SF means "security forces", and not Special Forces as I already saw Razz) are only worn by USAF Guards. I never saw one for another branch.

And sometimes we can find them on ebay.
