    Unkown M60 Pouch

Post by Billdozer77 on Sat Aug 29, 2015 12:24 am

Picked this up a couple years back at a sweet surplus shop outside of FT Polk. I know it's an M60 pouch, just not sure who made it.

Very thick material and well made. Wish they still made our gear this tough. Seems to be early MOLLE/PALS. From the yellowing on the elastic flap, it appears it may have gone through some swim testing.

Gonna make a great NVG pouch now that my unit is ok with OD.

    Tell me what you think:

Pretty sure that's Blackhawk. I have one with a Blackhawk tag that's nearly identical.

I was thinking it might be early Blackhawk, but wasn't sure. No tag or identifying marks made me wonder.

    Thanks for the input.

Good to know. At what point did BHI move production overseas?

    Thanks for the info.

Somewhere in the 2000-2003 window. Think it moved to Korea first, then Vietnam.

Actually they still to this day make some of their gear in the USA, but the bulk of their production moved overseas in the late 90s. I had been a BHI dealer since 95 and they didn't even let their dealer know. One day I had a load of gear come in and it was all good, business as usual and two weeks later I had about 3K of gear come in and when we where unloading the boxes it just didn't feel right, the fabric was different and kinda cheap feeling. Upon closer inspection everything has little "made in Vietnam" tags on it. I called them up asking for an explanation. long story short I sent it all back and never bought anything from them again.

    Sad, isn't is Sax?

Anelles, I just checked an old BHI assault pack I had stuffed under the bed, and sure enough it says made in Korea...
