    I believe there weren't the IR flags at that time. The flag and SF patches with velcro backing are not original to the modified DCU. I just slapped them on for the cool factor. I had a ECWS fleece jacket on him but decided to take it off because I want to show off a modified DCU!

    The ELCS and modified DCU set (top and pants) belonged to a veteran.

    The reason I didn't go for SPEAR body armor.... According to many reference photos, ELCS set in DCU pattern usually are worn without body armors. Woodland ELCS is usually worn with woodland body armor. Another good excuse for me, they are friggin' expensive!

    Here's reference photos of SF with ELCS without body armors. The irony is they don't wear modified DCUs. (Yes I know, my mannequin needs a beard! Laughing)

    I'm considering to construct a life-size prop/diorama for it. Maybe a concrete wall like photos above for background.

    Merc,
    They did wear modified DCU's during early OEF. If you get a chance, you need to pick up two books: Special Forces in Afghanistan and Special Forces in Iraq both written by Eric Micheletti. They have a few mistakes, but have some excellent pictures from both fronts (early pictures as well).

    The suits are so BAGGY because it is size Large and my Mannequin is made for Size small (for older uniforms).

    You need to put a black sock with the toe cut off on the M-44 SWD Goggles, and a piece from a camo netting repair kit over the top!

    Looking great...and the bagginess is to be expected...this IS the Army we are talking about...nothing is EVER in your correct size.

    Is that a first run set of jungle boots I see peeking out from under that MOPP suit?

    Indeed, I should. I have a green issue socks that I thought about cut up for this photo but decided not because it is stank from work. lol!

    Where can I find camo netting repair kit?

    You meant first run of desert boots? I would assume so because instead of tan soles, it is brown. Question

    Thanks for your kind comment.

    I found a camo netting repair piece for CHEAP on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220621163516&rvr_id=&crlp=1_263602_263622&UA=%3F*F%3F&GUID=e8bbcc191280a0b584226e92ffd60045&itemid=220621163516&ff4=263602_263622

    Ha ha, yeah..I meant desert boots, not jungle. Those first run ones with the dark sole are pretty rare. They would be more appropriate for a Desert Storm/Shield display because by the time we went back into Iraq for Desert Storm Redux the tan soled desert boots had been around for a good long while.

    great job!

    Hey everyone.

    I think it is almost finished but I would need magazines and dummy grenades, maybe pick up an Airsoft M-16A4 RIS to make it look nicer. I still don't feel it is complete. Anything else I should add? Feedbacks are welcome.

    Great ! And no, miss you nothing. Or you can add accessories for OTV (like APES or Side Sapi pouches) to do it more complete, but it's some more money and it depends what you prefer. There's another thing you can add, a drop leg holster in coyote tan.

    and for my opinion, I think you'd better move the hand grenade pockets. Now they are on size, and it's not so pratical as it. You'd better attach them on the upper torso molle straps on the OTV.

    Just my 2 cents...

    and well, you all show your usmc dummy, so here's my provisoire usmc set (I still wait replacement usmc boots in bigger size compatible with my dummy, and marpat desert uniform) ;

    But well, I know : it miss pouches but I do not project to add them...hate them ! What a Face

    And PVS is the only fake item I've in my collection, but it looks good with helmet I think. I trade this dummy nvg against 3 small pouches I didn't need, so I'm happy as it.

    I think his camelback is good. It was more often used by usmc than 3 color desert...or if you'll replace this camelback, you can buy a coyote Camelback or Source Hydration like mine. But for me, it's not necessary, it's good as it.

    And for that sort of name tag, it's not adequate with his current usmc display I think. The display of Mercenary25 is more like an early OIF, so they didn't use that sort of name tag as this period. These name tags were first used when usmc worn fly jacket in tan color (so around end 2004 - 2005 as on battle of Fallujah), as it ;
