    My collection

Post by artur95 on Thu Dec 18, 2014 6:21 pm

    Hey everyone.

I thought it was about time to start documenting my collection.

Sorry about the photos' poor quality. My camera is a tad bit out dated.

Feel free to ask any questions! I'll provide more information once I'm finished uploading the pics.

    Thanks,

    Artur

Republican Guard uniform. The first and only example I have. The group came with the beret, shirt, trousers, and pistol belt. Just received the set a few days ago and I love it already!

    A close up.

The holster. Does anyone have an idea of what the scorpion signifies?

A pair of Syrian made boots, pretty shoddy craftsmanship if you ask me. Brought back by a National Guardsmen in 2004.

    Thread pattern.

Airborne beret and canteen cup brought back by the same guardsmen. I actually owe a large part of my collection because of him. I'll refer to him as "Joe" (G.I.Joe, just trying to respect his privacy).

My post war issued helmet. The camo net is loose, I think that it's a size too big. Either that or it was stretched. Any ideas?

A switch to the opposing forces, some DCU items from OIF.

25 ID/ 108th Air Defense Brigade DCU. It was patched up but never used. Compared to the other DCU, the colors on this one are very bright.

A nice and honest used and abused 20th Engineer Brigade top. Too bad the name tab and ranks were taken off. I'm thinking maybe it was used 2004/2005. Any ideas?

My favorite cover is the one on the left.

The one on the right is nice too. It has desert and woodland patches on both sides.

My Afghan patches. Acquired in the Herat region. The large shield patch is from an infantry battalion.

    My theater made patches.

All patches were brought back by Joe.

    Challenge coin collection.

    125th Signal Battalion

Gen. Charles R Holland challenge coin. Commander of USSOCOM 2000-2003

Gen. Eldon A. Bargewell challenge coin. Presented when serving as assistant chief of staff for SFOR in Sarajevo.

The general was a member of MACV-SOG and later commanded Delta Force. You can find some amazing information about his accomplishments online.

I found all three special warfare coins at a local flea market. There were about 5 more (all European command generals). I think the seller found the coins in a storage locker. I didn't have enough money at the time and could only buy 3.

    Theater made DCU badges.

A strange paper like airborne patch.

Thanks guys for the compliments! I don't really collect anything specific, just anything that catches my eye.
