And a few more. What does ERU stand for? It does not look to be Iraqi made.

ERU - Emergency Response Unit - police

    http://www.usmilitary.com/765/iraqi-police-graduate-eru-school/

Here's a vid, at around 4:35 it shows the unit logo of your patch. I will say, the one you have looks like a western produced insignia and is not really similar in construction to the one I had. Bob can probably put some input into this. The one I had was on a black fabric background.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeRr-UbUDEA

The iraq made patches, 99% of them do NOT have a merrowed edge (ie a merrowed edge where the embroidery wraps around the edge.). Most iraq made insignia have a cut edge in that they embroider the patch on fabric and carefully cut up to the edge of the embroidery. I'm not saying they don't use this patch but construction is completely wrong IMHO>

The iraq collectors forum has some exc. threads on iraq insignia, http://z8.invisionfree.com/Iraq_militaria_forum/index.php?s=63aeb481b58c65886a125d979920cf8b&showforum=43

Additionally, here's a pic that Arch posted over on the forum. This is the way the ERU patch that I had looked. Again not to say yours is not legit, it's just different.

    zvez

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I agree that my patch is not Iraqi made as I did see the one Arch posted and mine does not look any where near the way his does. I honestly was thinking repo on that one.

I watched the video link you sent and now I need to look for the patch seen on the one guys left shoulder near the end, black square w/white skull wearing a jesters hat (?) and ERU below. I like that one!

Examples (copies) of the ERU patch were made in the Dam Neck, Virginia area by some NSW folks. The patches were made between deployments and based on an Iraqi made piece. I have an example along with other patches (US and Iraqi made) that came from a member of Team 2 who related the above information.

It's interesting in that pic the insignia are letter ERB as opposed to ERU. If memory serves ERB was teh forerunner to the ERU program. Bob has the pic of the ERB patch on the right in his book.

ERB = emergency response battalion or brigade

Thanks for that info. I guess I should hang onto it for now. At least till an Iraqi made one shows up.

Aluminum is crazy to use as patch - in my opinion. I wonder what the motivation was for using metal \on what has been, traditionally, been done in cloth.

I've also wondered why the switch to metal "patches". You would think they would catch on everything.

Two different sets for the Golden Division (used to be Brigade) arm and chest patch set.
In the second set, you see ICTF and ISOF chest patches both used.
