Vegetato variants

Howdy all,

Two different Vegetato patterns.   First one up a  Tuscania Regiment set.  Tuscania is a Carabinieri * SF ( Airborne)        * Carabinieri are  military police .




































Next up  is an Army SF variant.

The above uniforms are made in China for 2 different Italian importers ,one of them a producer of uniforms , and contractor to the Italian Armed Forces.

Some Italian troops purchase these uniforms because they feel the Chinese made uniforms are
better overall when compared with some of the Italian issue uniforms which are imported from other European countries.

Hi Ripcord56,nice set,your opinion is true,some Italian soldiers buy their uniforms in specialized sites because those supplied are made with not resistant material.

Pretty sad, actually . The 2 Chinese made uniforms are definitely well made.

I would say better made than some of the Italian manufactured pieces in my collection.

Italian made uniforms are generally of high quality, but I do have a couple that I dont think

would stand up to serious field use.

Very nice. Great having the photo of two patterns being worn. Looks like a medal award ceremony - or right after one. Very nice!

It's a quality uniform with a great pattern that works well in multiple environments.
Basically, SOG is the Italian Crye P. but with a more durable product IMHO.

Have not seen overdyed Vegetato uniforms in use before.

The photos taken at that event are the only ones I've seen, a real oddity which is why I posted it.

Since february 2020 GOS, the Diver Specialist group of italian Navy has been authorized to wear a Blue vegetata, that hides saltwater stains and is antistatic.

I haven't seen those in use in Italy (that doesn't mean maybe it isn't done)

I THINK that picture happened because black uniforms are the standard OPFOR color at JMRC.

US soldiers there are already wearing Black Scorpion w2 cut uniform. i think they are dyed, but they have a very deep black die and the underlying camo doesn't show. i don't think they are factory made black ones (unlike the older factory black propper and truspec ACU cut ones they are still using among black dyed ACUs) but i am not sure.

This is the present evolution of Vegetato .   This uniform is part of the Soldato Futuro modernization program. It is made in Romania and basically a copy of one of the  SOD Vegecam cuts (check post # 7).
