    Post by P-E on Sat Apr 03, 2010 9:22 pm

    Here's my first Lightweight Helmet (with the old suspension strap inside). It was some use, so I completely removed all accessories to wash it;

    And here's one last model, with coyote chin strap ;

    this last one miss in my collection, if someone can find one for me, it can interess me !

    No, I haven't it but well one of my friend. I already see it twice on ebay, but it was too expensive. Will wait a little the time...

    Here is mine. Note: It is a put-together piece. The shell is used/issued but the guts (crown and straps) and cover are brand new, unissued. The cover couldn't sit on it well because it is wrong kind, it has velcro straps for the newest LWH with shock pads. I still need to buy a earlier MARPAT cover with straps like Kevlar covers have.

    Beautiful ! I'm always happy when I see one old style LWH (with liner and not pads). They are really more confortable and rarest ! NEVER update your LWH with pads, it'll be criminal for collection !

    I agree! But I will need another LWH with tan suspensions and pads, guess they will flood the market once Marines decide to use different helmet.

    Easy Gee, thanks dude. You gonna keep your eyes on ebay. Those pop up on ebay quite frequently but be careful of fakes (yes there are out there).

    Gentlemen,

    I just got another LWH! This time it is combat used, not minty unissued condition like another one I have.

    Cool thing about it is the nametape. Instead of sew it on the cover, this Marine glued it on. It is very sandy and dirty.

    USMC LWH

    Post by HELMET COLLECTOR on Sun Oct 31, 2010 12:09 am

    I recently bought this USMC LWH off of eBay for $130.00. It has the new tan chinstrap and is medium. I think that on the inside of the cover the 3/5 might stand for 3/5 Marines.

    Nice LWH!

    There is a great thread about LWH helmets. If you want, I can merge this thread to this LWH thread.

    Merged.

    Your LWH is a nice example of newest LWH (shock pads and coyote tan suspension). Cheers.

    Well, we have to differenciate two items..the chin strap has no kevlar inside. The part on the rear of helmet is only leather and nylon, without ballistic protection properties.

    The nape pad is a different item. Here's the nape pad for the LWH :

    This one has kevlar inside !

    hope this helps,

    P-E

    The nape pad with kevlar protective insert is an additional item. They are sold separately and can be add on the chin strap.
