ANA Training and Combat Uniform, Woodland Camouflage

Hello,

Just get this Woodland camouflage set made in USA which was purchased by a french soldier who need it to work among ANA soldiers.

As I never had any ANA Woodland set in my collection, I post it here for review in hope that it will take his place soon in the Afghnistan section.

Comparing to a basic US Army Combat Uniform, Woodland Camouflage; it is completly different and it looks cheaper than a real one. But as tag says, it is made in USA.

Differences between a Woodland made for ANA and a classical US set

It's chinese made uniform sold at local market
most of ana soldiers want to have US made uniform
but US made uniforms are hard to get and pretty expensive
so Local merchants are attached fake label for looks like us made

they sold as US Made uniforms to soldiers but actually chinese made
also exist field jacket. they marked golden manufacturing

I would say commercial uniform with Propper tags used by ANA?

It is not propper. Ellis just explained that it is Chinese made. Also not to mention propper is too well made compared to this.

Didn't notice the Propper tags. Still, I wouldn't call it commerical because it is fake to fool ANA soldiers thinking they got US sets.

I knew already that China has great connection in Afghanistan economy and more than present on local markets in Afghanistan.

Had a conversation with a french soldier who told me that during his tour there was a need for fifty picatinny rails for their Famas. On the normal firearms market it is quite expensive, so they decide to go on the local market, did let one original to a shop and get fifty copies one week after for more than half of the price.

So could we call it a Made in ChANA uniforms set.

In this case it is still a piece of collection, because worn by ANA soldiers. The copy is not here to fool collectors, but soldiers !

China shares a tiny portion of the Afghan Border, along with Tajikistan and Pakistan. this might explain the chinese copy uniform being found in ANA hands; it also explains how a large number of rifles used by the Afghans are of Chi-com origins rather than Russian origins (Type 56 Rifle and type 63/67 rifles, and so on); in addition to all the old British stuff left over

Having talked to a dozen vendors in Parwan, I found out many vendors make orders from Chinese manufacturers to produce insignia and uniformsas part of their business. A lot of the new commando insignia are produced in China. You can tell which ones they are because they have that inexpensive commercial look. Also, those with the thick black merrowed border/edge are almost always Chinese produced (see pic). One of the vendors on BAF ordered all of his patches from a Chinese firm and he has thousands to sell.

Uniforms come from all over (ie China, Pakistan, and local tailors in Afghanistan). Vendors play the market based on need. Jackets, followed closely by boots, command the largest monetary figure among buyers in Afghanistan. Surprisingly, ANA uniforms only go for $12 in Afghanistan.
