Back in the day we would hunt out Canadians and Brits to swap with. It was always a nice change.

The newer onese arn't bad. The chocolate pudding is actually pretty good. So is the corned beef hash. That tinned cheese was like eating arse. You could mix it with the powdered potatoes and make it a bit better.

One of my lads tried to make himself porridge out of an oatmeal biscuit and after ten minutes watching it cook on his hexi burner had failed to add any liquid.

I want to try the lamb curry individual meal. That sounds like a superb nosh for a field ration!

Although the resulting "curry sweats" may indefinitely permeate your kit...and frustrate your squad mates. lol!

Is a Yorkie bar just a chocolate candy? Like Hersheys, but edible? Having sampled authentic Cadbury's, I don't see how I ever tolerated Hershey's as a kid... Laughing My neighbours travel all the time, and bring back all kinds of goodies when they return as a thank you for looking after the place in their absence. Cadbury's was leaps and bounds ahead of Hersheys, but my absolute favourite was some chocolate they brought back from Belgium. I can't remember now what brand it was, though.

I don't know what it is about Europeans and chocolate, but you guys seem to know something about making it that we in the States haven't figured out yet!

That's it Ben. They were made by a company called Rowntree and then Nestle's bought them out in the early 90's. Hershey's always reminds me of cooking chocolate for some reason. And smells weird. Some of the Cadbury's chocolate made in Ohio (under license) is passable. Maybe the Belgian chocolate was Toblerone or something?

I found malt vinegar on the shelf at Walmart the other day, it tastes a bit watery though.
