Looking and hoping for some help with identification of this patch. Theatre made in Iraq and picked up by a friend from 5th SFG(A). This is a design that I am unable to identify. The quality is decent but the details are hard to make out. Appears to be a leaping frog holding a trident over crossed cannons? Base portions of cannon have U and 3. Interesting patch and the frog with trident made me think it might be NSW/SEAL related.

Posted on another forum some months ago I received responses that it "might" be Republic of China/Taiwanese Navy SEAL/UDT design or perhaps Philippine NAVSOG. Would suspect that US NSW folks have trained with these units at some point. Regardless, any thoughts would be appreciated .....

Looks very similar to one of the Taiwan units. Will chek tomorrow as I think I may still have one, and will post it.

Received a PID for this patch:

Unofficial insignia for US Naval Special Warfare Group 3. Until 2008, NSWG-3 was composed of two SEAL Delivery Vehicle Teams (SDVT-1 Pearl Harbor and SDVT-2 Little Creek, VA). SDV Teams are SEAL Teams with additional advanced underwater delivery capabilities. In August 2008, SDVT-2 was dissolved and its assets merged into SDVT-1, which is now headquartered in San Diego and operates detachments in Pearl Harbor and Little Creek. I am told that this patch design is circa late 2008 - early 2009 after the merger.
