I have made some research and I found nothing about the OTV, but I found that Canada is still using (or used in the 2000's) during exercises PASGT vest, the olive drab Canadian flak jacket and even m69 flak jacket.

Unfortunately, I don't have so much informations about the US OTV, I could say, it s an US Canada training, or exercices.

I have already seen some reserve unities wore the old green body armor during training. Crying or Very sad

On a picture dated 2009/2010, I saw soldier wearing the green flak jacket and PASGT vest. I have no information about the unit.

The pic with the Vietnam war flak vest is dated 2005/2006. It was took during a training with the US forces.

It will be great if you could have more information about unity. I m sure, not 100%, but it could be a reserve unity.

During training, the soldiers don't wear the current OTV for not to rip them, I think so

Hi ladrang, you were right these are reserve unit. On the first pic, these are soldier from the 38 Canadian Brigade Group, 2007, on the second I don't know, and on the last one the unit is the royal Winnipeg rifle, 2005. On the pics dated 2008-present that I saw, there was no more PASGT and green flak vest. The soldier were all issued the body armor in CADPAT camo. I saw no OTV.

OUPPS, I mentioned OTV and I wanted to say body armor.

38 Canadian Brigade Group and Royal Winnipeg rifle are composed of all CF Primary Reserve Army Units, it could used all old body armor until replaced them by the new one.

On this link, you could see that all Officer Cadets are wearing US PASGT and current assault vest in cadpat camo pattern

Thanks for the link, great pics Very Happy

I saw these pics too. Reserve unit and cadet officer were maybe issued old vest waiting for the new one when they would be available. It makes sense because these units are not part the primary force.

I'm going to the RMC nest year so I will see what is the current combat gear that is issued to the cadet officer Razz

The Canadian Solder above with the US IBA is most likely in the US and that vest was loaned out.

Yes, prior to getting issued the new Fragmentation Protective Vest(FPV) units issued out older PASGT and the Canadian look alike. The majority of the Reg Force should have the FPV by now as well as most Reserve units. However I wouldn't be surprised if some Reserve units are still issuing the older body armour untill they get the FPV. As well I'm sure some training schools may still have the older vests. Some units have lower priority to get the new FPV then others.

If the Military was afraid of troops ripping/breaking equipment during training, we'd be in pretty rough shape. Reasons why the FPV would not be worn

1.) It is not issued to that person yet.
2.) It may not be required for the training being conducted.
