Just get this souvenir embroidered Pakol from PAMIR 6.

PAMIR is the name of the french mission in Afghanistan before the creation of the TASK FORCE LA FAYETTE.
French forces was based on a BATaillon Interarmes FRAnçais (BATFRA).
It was numbered as the international mandate and was under the command of a french active regiment.

So, the mission from September 2003 to January 2004 is leaded by the 1er Régiment de Tirailleurs from Epinal.

Hi Jean-Yves, great patch, and very useful information regarding the recent 1er Régiment de Tirailleurs(1 st Rifle Regiment)in Afghanistan, I have just carried out a google search and discovered they have a very long and fruitful history on the battlefield,congrats on getting this patch my friend

Absolutly, they are carrying the tradition of Algerian Rifles. Their band is wearing traditional uniforms at ceremonies.

Today, I get this mug from an officer of the 1er RCP.

It was made in France by the men of the 3rd Coy in commemoration of their tour as Battle Group RAPTOR last year in Afghanistan.

Just find this tour book Afghanistan - PAMIR X printed by the french foreign legion publisher Képi Blanc by 2005, 106 pages illustrated with photos in color.

Mainly pictures from the foreign legion dated February/June 2005; units were 2e REI, 4./1er REC and 1er REG.
