    ANA Cap

Post by Easy Gee on Wed Jan 12, 2011 12:32 pm

    Hi Guys.

I'm very pleased with myself right now,as I have took on the ownership of this cool cap...with Provenance Very Happy

Anyway enough of the bragging, here it is I thought I would share it with you guys...that's the kinda bloke I am Laughing

The story behind this cap is The Squaddie ended up in a rash hat-swapping fest.I don't know what sort of hat he swapped it for?

The original owner's name is Abdul Matin and his name is written on the underside of the peak in Pashto, but apart from that it's unmarked.

The inside edge folds down to cover the ears with a warm lining. Size is quite small, about 54-55 cm.

There also very faint numbers under Abdul's name, looks like 2322???,and underneath that some more Pashto writing...I'm thinking Unit ,Division or whatever numbers.

ANA or ANP items are quite uncommon to find. I would LOVE to have something like this in my collection. Great grab, sir!!!

Hi Mate , too true, I assumed this cap was a US cap "donated" to the ANA,along with the camo BDU's etc...

Don't know, but I have'nt got a US cap to compare it with Wink

I think this was a locally-produced piece, because the bill of the hat is HUGE compared to the regular US patrol caps. It also lacks the reinforced seam on the brim and the additional stitching across the bill. Here's a photo of an actual US woodland patrol cap for comparison.

    Cheers Cool
