    VISIBLE LIGHT ILLUMINATOR (VLI)

Post by Mercenary25 on Tue Dec 14, 2010 10:36 pm

This is a Visible Light Illuminator (VLI). It is part of early SOPMOD accessories for M4 used by Special Operation units. It was later replaced with VLIR, widely known as surefire. This one was used overseas according a guy who I bought it off.

Any idea of it's value? I saw mint, unissued one up for sale at $300?!

The VLI tactical illuminator emits a highly concentrated beam of visible light for acquisition and identification. Rail grabber/ mount for easy-on and easy-off access. Remote cable switch and IR filter are also available. Currently used by US special forces.

Information: from manufacturer newsletter, tactical equipment company and USMC newsletter.
